Transporting foods for lunches and picnics and storing leftovers for reheating is a lot safer when using glass or stainless steel containers. The benefit of glass is that you can use it in the microwave! Renata, these are what I use! In addition to all the other advantages, they are really quite difficult to break (which is the reason many people give for using plastic).
