The best trick for me is to always make sure to have them start the morning with a fruit and yogurt smoothie and some protein such as sausages, bacon or even a quiche filled with veggies. When they are home from school, you have a large platter with cut out fruit. At dinner time always start your meals with a salad or a soup.
